DETAILS The scheme “Food Processing and Value Addition Management” is implemented by the Department of Horticulture, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to promote the establishment of food processing units in Uttarakhand, enhance value addition in agricultural and horticultural products, support entrepreneurs with financial assistance, and strengthen the state’s food processing ecosystem. BENEFITS Under this scheme, for setting up new food processing units, 50% of the project cost, up to a maximum of ₹400.00 lakh (₹4 crore), is provided as government assistance/subsidy. The department is in the process of uploading previously approved proposals on its website, similar to the MSME model, to make it easier for interested companies, firms, or promoters to prepare their proposals. ELIGIBILITY Companies, firms, and promoters interested in setting up food processing units in Uttarakhand are eligible to receive assistance under this scheme.
